MLE Gives Back: Promise South Salt Lake
The season of giving is upon us and in an effort to give back to our community, this year the Michelle Leo Events team has decided to support Promise South Salt Lake.
Promise South Salt Lake is an organization that works to implement specialized strategies and program maps based on relevant data to provide model/evidence-based curriculums and expand learning and positive youth development opportunities that support academic, physical, civic, social, and emotional youth success.
Activities in South Salt Lake include high intensity, literacy-focused after school programs, structured recreation and service opportunities, intentional reciprocal cultural opportunities, and a broad range of enriching experiences that utilize a cradle-to-career continuum that improves educational and developmental youth outcomes. Their work is accomplished in the 14 South Salt Lake Neighborhood Centers and throughout the community. They articulate their work as promises that represent the highest hopes for our community.
So how can we help this holiday season? The answer to this comes through the Promise South Salt Lake Family Liaison Program.
This program has been designed to facilitate community engagement, community connection, and community empowerment. The program includes home visits when appropriate and connects families to various resources and opportunities. That's where we come in! As the Family Liaison Team has done home visits, they have noticed a high demand for the following items in the community:
Food:
- Rice
- Beans
- Pasta
- Flour
- Oil
- Cereal
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned Soups
Hygiene:
- Toilet Paper
- Laundry Detergent
- Deodorant
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Soap/Body Wash
- Wash Cloths
- Toothbrush/Toothpaste
- Lotion
- Feminine Hygiene Products
Join us in donating any one (or more) of these items to benefit the families in our community. The MLE team will be collecting donations from now until December 7th.
