Kristi & Robert's Whimsical Carnival Themed Reception

Robert had dreams of an “outdoor carnival” theme for their reception, while Kristi envisioned a laid back reception indoors that would cater to the many young children in her extended family and her elementary students. Both agreed that they wanted something completely unique and fun for their 500 guests!

Since we’re in the business of making dreams come true, we transformed over 10,000 square feet of empty space at the Utah State Fairpark into a whimsical, vintage-themed carnival!

The entrance featured a giant balloon arch and guests immediately saw the couple’s standing monogram upon arrival.

The space was draped from top to bottom in white chiffon to provide the illusion of being under a big top tent, while colorful balloon chandeliers and pennant flag banners added a pop of color to the ethereal canopy top ceiling.

The menu included a variety of carnival-style foods such as cotton candy, popcorn, funnel cakes, sliders & fries, and hot fudge sundaes. Servers wore vintage candy-striper uniforms in pastel colors to complete the culinary experience.

Magicians, caricature artists, balloon artists, face painters, mimes, and jugglers entertained guests. Vintage carnival games included ring toss, slap-shot, balloon darts, and milk jug toss. Sounds of a live band provided guests with plenty of entertainment along with a vintage photo booth. Kids in attendance earned tickets for games played and cashed in on carnival prizes at the prize table.

Guests sat at tables adorned in blue and white striped linens, while cocktail tables highlighted beautiful pastel shades of pink, yellow, purple, and blue.

This reception was fun, entertaining, and out-of-the-box providing guests with the most memorable wedding they had ever experienced!

Note: This wedding took place prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
